Old Trafford side given boost in pursuit of World Cup winner.
Man United are on alert after Old Trafford target Sami Khedira was made to train with the Real Madrid reserves ahead of a likely January exit according to the Daily Express.
The 27 year old is into the last year of his Bernabeu contract and is not a seemingly a key part of Carlo Ancelotti’s plans and perhaps being banished to the reserves will lead to a speedier exit in January.
Though Khedira is playing second fiddle to Luka Modric and Toni Kroos he did help Real Madrid to secure a Champions League triumph last term, returning from injury in the latter stages of the campaign, before playing a prominent role in Joachim Low’s 2014 World Cup winning squad.
Louis van Gaal brought in Ander Herrera and Daley Blind to help strengthen his central midfield options though arguably Khedira would provide a more rounded option in the role.
The tough tackling Real Madrid man would provide steel and is also an adept distributor of the ball.
