Spanish football insider Guillem Balague has provided an update on rumours linking Real Madrid star Gareth Bale to Manchester United, which may not make good news for Red Devils fans.

Despite strong speculation in recent times that United were firmly in the running to sign the former Tottenham Hotspur man in a deal potentially worth around £90m, Balague believes there is no truth to the club’s supposed interest in the 25-year-old.
Responding to a fan’s question on Twitter, Balague simply answered “no” when quizzed about whether or not there was a chance of Bale making the move to Old Trafford.

United spent heavily over the summer under new manager Louis van Gaal, bringing in some world class attacking players such as Angel Di Maria and Radamel Falcao, though it could be that even more new faces could be lining up upfront for the club this winter.
However, it looks like it won’t be Bale that United are signing, with the Welshman likely to remain at the Bernabeu for the long term after only joining the club in a world-record £85m deal last summer.
