However, despite Spanish dominance there is one player that trumps them all and he ply’s his trade in the Premier League. Messi was in prolific form in La Liga last term, but an Injury meant he had to sit on the sidelines for a good section of the campaign, thus elongating the minutes between his goals.

The Croatian was in good form for the Bundesliga champions, and actually improved on his tally from the season before. However, it still wasn’t deemed good enough and he was replaced by Robert Lewandowski over the summer.
