Thiago Silva has given a strongly worded interview about the thorny subject of the Brazilian national team’s armband.
The World Cup captain was stripped of his responsibilities whilst out injured. Neymar is the new captain, and Silva isn’t impressed.
“I don’t think I’m the one that should go to them. He (Neymar) hasn’t come to me, no one has come to speak with me about it and that’s what really bothers me”, he said.
“My feeling is that they have taken something that belongs to me and I’d be lying if I said I was happy”.
“You should ask the manager if I’ve lost my starting spot. As of today, I don’t know when I’ll return to the starting line-up. I could return or not. It depends on some people’s point of view”.
Silva hasn’t played for Brazil since losing 7-1 in the World Cup semi-final.
