United line up Hugo Lloris as David de Gea replacement.

Manchester United are preparing for life after David de Gea according to reports from the Express, with the Red Devils linked with a £25 million move for Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Hugo Lloris in the event that their Spanish stopper moves to Real Madrid in the near future.

Lloris has been one of the finest goalkeepers in the Premier League, if not the world, since he was signed from French Ligue 1 outfit Lyon in an eyecatching deadline day deal by Harry Redknapp, but it is arguable that Lloris has too much quality to be playing for a team who are struggling to really compete for Champions League qualification.

De Gea has also flourished since moving to the Premier League from Atletico Madrid and has put some shaky early form behind him to become one of the most impressive young players in the English top flight, inevitably attracting the interest of La Liga’s giants in the shape of Carlo Ancelotti’s Real.

Legendary Real goalkeeper Iker Casillas seems to be coming to the end of his time as number one at the Bernabeu and Real have reportedly identified de Gea as their preferred candidates to step into Casillas’ substantial gloves.
