Old Trafford side set to sign free agent keeper.
Man United will reportedly finally complete the signing of free agent keeper Victor Valdes in early January according to Spanish source Sport.
The 32 year old has been training with the Old Trafford side for some weeks, no doubt with the Premier League side keen to see that the former Barcelona man has recovered from the knee injury that he suffered towards the end of last season.
Valdes would prove a very able challenger to first choice custodian David de Gea, with the current Old Trafford number one impressing a great deal this term.
Victor Valdes is of course a hugely experienced performer and having spent 12 seasons as first choice keeper at the Nou Camp one imagines that the Spaniard would be confident enough to accept the challenge of battling de Gea for Louis van Gaal’s attention.
During his lengthy Barcelona stay Valdes racked up 535 appearances and won a host of honours including six La Liga titles and three Champions League crowns.
