The Merseyside club have been struggling badly this season, having not only been dumped unceremoniously out of the Champions League by Basel, but also finding themselves ninth in the Premier League.

Brendan Rodgers has struggled to get his side firing on all cylinders in the new campaign, and the departure of Luis Suarez has left a gaping hole up front.

With Daniel Sturridge spending most of the season sidelined with injury, Rodgers has had to rely on Mario Balotelli, Rickie Lambert, and Fabio Borini.

The trio have failed to impress at Anfield so far, and after Fabio Borini was sent off in ridiculous circumstances against Arsenal, Marsh believes his time at the club is through.

“He’s [Rodgers] bought Rickie Lambert and sits him on the bench and plays without a centre-forward,” Marsh said.

“And when he does bring one on, he puts on Borini. Are you kidding me? He will never play for Liverpool again.

“He [Borini] looked to me as if he was trying to do something to get sent off. It almost looked like he was doing it on purpose.”

The Italian forward received two yellow cards in a matter of minutes against the Gunners; first for petulance after not being awarded a throw in, and then for catching Santi Cazorla in the chest with a dangerously high boot.
