Leicester City to secure signing of experienced stopper Mark Schwarzer.
Premier League strugglers Leicester City are primed to secure the signing of experienced Australian goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer from leaders Chelsea, report the Daily Star, as Nigel Pearson looks for better cover for injured number one Kasper Schmeichel, who could be out for some time.

Whilst former Charlton Athletic goalkeeper Ben Hamer has come into the Foxes side and done okay since Schmeichel broke a metatarsal in December, he has also been at fault for a couple of goals and does not have the vast wealth of Premier League experience that is available to former Fulham and Middlesbrough man Schwarzer.
The news could come as a blow to Chelsea’s Premier League rivals Arsenal and Liverpool, according to the report, as it means that Chelsea will be almost certain to keep experienced Czech Republic star Petr Cech at Stamford Bridge until the end of the season, despite reports linking Cech with both Anfield and the Emirates Stadium.
If Schwarzer’s move to the King Power Stadium is rubber stamped by Jose Mourinho and the Chelsea hierarchy, it leaves Cech as the only cover for Belgian first choice Thibaut Courtois – who may have broken a bone in his finger during the New Year’s Day defeat to Tottenham Hotspur.
