Wenger’s top target comes in the form of Southampton midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin, valued at £25million, though Arsenal will be battling north London rivals Tottenham for the 26 year old French international.
Given just how well Ronald Koeman’s side are faring this term, ahead of both Arsenal and Tottenham, it would be surprising if Schneiderlin would be in a huge rush to leave the south-coast side.
A more likely central midfield target could well come in the form of Sporting Lisbon’s William Carvalho.
The 22 year old Portuguese international is available for around £20m and given that his side have failed to reach the heights scaled last term, ten points off top of the table Benfica and out of the Champions League at the group stage, a January move if possible.
The third of these targets, Saint-Etienne’s Loic Perrin, is apparently very close to completing a move to the Emirates Stadium in a move that will cost Arsenal £6m.
The 29 year old will offer Wenger some much needed support at the back.
