Interested duo will have to wait until the summer to move for England star.
Aston Villa midfielder Fabian Delph is set to frustrate Liverpool and Tottenham after outlining his desire to play in the Champions League, the Daily Express reports.
Both clubs have been tipped to make early moves for the 25-year-old, but may now be forced to wait until the end of the season before springing into action.
Delph is said to have turned down a £50,000-a-week contract extension at Villa Park and has now entered the final six months of his contract.
Villa have remained firm on their stance that they will not sell him on the cheap in the new year and the player himself is thought to be in no rush about sorting out the next move in his career.
Delph is thought to be keen on seeing which of the interested clubs qualify for European competition next term before making any snap decisions.
With both teams still in the hunt to secure European football next term, they will now have to wait until the summer when their situation is much clearer.
