Arsenal Star Furious After He Was Dropped For Premier League Win Over Stoke City

Goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny appears to have lost his place to David Ospina.

Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny has been left fuming by manager Arsene Wenger’s decision to leave him out of the starting line up for today’s 3-0 Premier League victory over Stoke City, report the Mirror, with Colombian international David Ospina keeping his place from the FA Cup triumph against Hull City last weekend and putting in an impressive display.

Szczesny has hit the headlines recently after he was fined £20,000 by his manager after being caught smoking in the showers following an error strewn display in the Gunners’ recent 2-0 defeat at Southampton – but the Pole had expected the matter to be closed and to be back in the team for the game today.

It has not turned out that way, however, potentially due to a promising display from Ospina in the FA Cup victory last weekend – and the report suggests that Polish international Szczesny now faces a tough battle to regain what has been a generally unchallenged position in Wenger’s starting line up.

Television cameras caught a glum looking Szczesny hidden in his coat on the Emirates Stadium bench after a rare slip by Ospina in the game against the Potters and, if his demeanor is anything to go by, reports of the goalkeeper’s discontent are not hard to believe.
