The midfielder could be leaving Bayern Munich…
Both Chelsea and Manchester United are chasing after Bayern Munich star Bastian Schweinsteiger, according to the Express.
It was recently revealed that the Germany international only has eighteen months left on his contract at the Bundesliga giants, and is in no rush to sign a new deal at the club. The 30-year-old apparently turned down the Red Devils in the summer but now this dithering over a new contract has led to manager Louis van Gaal reviving his interest. Chelsea are thought to also be looking in to the midfielder.
Munich boss Pep Guardiola is thought to be very keen to tie down his experienced ace to a extended deal, but Schweinsteiger has kept his future in the air following some quotes in the German press. He has made it clear that he is not bothered about having such a short time left on his contract.
He said, “I am in no hurry to renew. It’s not something that bothers me because I have a year before it expires. The important thing is that my physical problems and injuries are resolved. The rest will follow.”
