Man United transfer news
Alves is out of contract at the end of the season, and is free to negotiate a transfer overseas now that he has entered the final six months of his deal.
The 31-year-old is still in high demand, though, with the likes of United, Arsenal and Chelsea are interested in landing his signature.
And with Alves’ future at the Camp Nou remaining uncertain, Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu has refused to reveal whether a new deal had been put in place to keep him in Catalonia.
“What concerns us now is that he plays and contributes to the team,” Bartomeu said.
“What is to come, will come. We never explain what we do on the issue of contracts.
“If it is done, it will be done discretely, like always. We want to be respectful.”
Alves has clocked up 20 appearances in all competitions for Barcelona so far this season.
