Arsenal fended of serious interest for the Pole from Bundesliga side Hamburg but the German club conceded defeat in their chase for the youngster yesterday leaving Arsenal primed to complete a deal.
Whilst Bielik is still young and clearly a signing for the future, it is believed the teenager is in Arsene Wenger’s current plans and will go straight into the first team squad.
Wenger has revealed he’s also in the market for a defensive signing which may have been influenced by the Gunners announcement that right back Mathieu Debuchy would be out injured for three months.
