It was thought Arsene Wenger was just waiting for a work permit…
Respected journalist Guillem Balague has said that Arsenal’s deal for Villarreal defender Gabriel Paulista is not yet completed due to the Gunners’ unwillingness to pay €20 million for the player.

This is surprising as it has been thought that the North London club were just waiting on a work permit for the transfer to be announced. If Arsene Wenger were to fail to buy the Brazilian now it would be embarrassing for both him and the club.
To add to the news that the deal isn’t completed yet, it would seem that the Spanish side want Joel Campbell as part of the transfer.
It is unknown if this would be on loan or in a permanent move and whether this is a major stumbling block for the move is also not mentioned.
