The boyhood Liverpool fan has struggled for both form and game time since his summer move from Southampton and the Sunday People report that the 32 year old could be let go if the Reds were offered a good deal.

Crystal Palace and Hull are said to be the front runners whilst West Brom and QPR are also interested.

The £4 million man doesn’t want to leave the club and instead fight for his place, whilst Brendan Rodgers is also keen to see him stay at least until the end of the season but there is an acceptance that his appearances will be limited for the rest of this campaign.

The report also states Liverpool are still on the lookout for a new striker as both Lambert and fellow summer signing Mario Balotelli have struggled to fit in.

However, with Daniel Sturridge now back fit and returning to the score sheet against West Ham it leaves Rodgers more confident in his forward options.

Meanwhile, Fabio Borini could also be allowed to leave as his sale would provided some much desired funds for transfers.
