After a fairly dull first half this London derby sprung to life as Arsenal netted twice in the space of four minutes.
First on 64 minutes Olivier Giroud fired home from close range after some fairly shambolic defending.
Then soon after Alexis Sanchez cut inside and fired past Rob Green’s near post to double the Gunners’ advantage.
With eight minutes to go Charlie Austin showed great composure to turn and fire past David Ospina to set up a nervy finish.
