Are Liverpool better off without Gerrard in the team?
Liverpool fans may be slightly more optimistic for the days after their talismanic captain Steven Gerrard leaves the club this summer with a surprising stat revealing just how successful the team have been without him in the side.

In the six Premier League matches Gerrard has missed for the Reds this season, Liverpool have managed to win all of them, reports Daily Mail.
In fact, in those six matches Liverpool have managed to score 14 goals, exactly half of the 28 they managed in 22 matches they have played with Gerrard.
And it makes even kinder reading when looking at the number conceded with the side seemingly struggling for solidity with their captain, letting 28 goals in but without Gerrard this stat goes down to just two.
Whilst there’s no suggestion that Gerrard is actively making his side any worse by being in the team, perhaps it suggests that without the skipper, Brendan Rodgers has been able to field a more cohesive and balanced side.
And so when Gerrard eventually packs his bags in the summer, it clearly doesn’t mean it’s the end of the world. They could even be a better side because of it.
