The forward is set to be up for grabs in the summer.
Liverpool are reportedly poised to land Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema in the summer, with the La Liga giants prepared to sell their front-man for a fee around £50m to fund the signing of another world-class forward.
Real, according to reports in Spain, want to sell one of the ‘BBC’ – Gareth Bale, Benzema or Cristiano Ronaldo – and it seems that the France international is the player that the club are willing to let go.
Liverpool were heavily linked with a move for the 27-year-old in January, but nothing materialised.
However, a move at the end of the season is now seems like a real possibility.
With the Reds’ top scorer, Steven Gerrard, boasting just 10 goals, Brendan Rodgers is in dire need of a proven goalscorer to help the club return to challenging for the Champions League and Premier League year in, year out – and Benzema could be the man for the job, with 20 goals so far this term in Spain.
Liverpool, however, are not alone in their interest for the former Olympique Lyonnais star, as Paris Saint-Germain are also reportedly considering a bid for the striker.
