Former Arsenal striker Thierry Henry insists Barcelona star Lionel Messi does have an ego, despite often being described as humble in comparison to Real Madrid forward and nemesis Cristiano Ronaldo.
However, Henry feels this is no bad thing when looking at what the Argentine has achieved in the game, as he lauded the player after his fine performance in Wednesday night’s win over Manchester City.
“He has an ego. Of course he has an ego,” Henry is quoted in the Daily Mail. “Do you think you do that without having an ego? It’s not a bad thing. Having an ego is not a bad thing. Knowing that you are good. You need that.
“Let’s all be honest. You need that. He just plays. If you ask him to play with you now just outside the dressing room, he will just want to have fun, perform and be the best out there.”
