Much maligned manager David Moyes very nearly sealed a season long loan move for the attack minded left back last season, though a hitch in the paperwork at the eleventh hour meant he was to stay at the Bernabeu.

Since the arrival of experienced Dutch manager Louis van Gaal, the Red Devils have gone on to splurge the cash in the transfer market signing Luke Shaw, Marcos Rojo and Daley Blind, all of which are able to play on the left-hand side.

It is reported in the Mirror, though, that Manchester United could be about to revive that interest, with the Spanish giants lining up replacements.

Atletico Madrid’s Guilherme Siqueira is their number one target, after narrowly failing to secure his signature over summer, before moving to their city rivals.

This will then leave Coentrao free to move in what is likely to be another busy summer at Old Trafford with various targets already in place.

The list of potential signings in summer is extensive with the likes of Dynamo Kiev’s Aleksandar Dragovic, Southampton’s Nathaniel Clyne, Roma’s Kevin Strootman and Dortmund’s Mats Hummels all touted in the report.
