Firstly, Carl Jenkinson’s future at the Emirates Stadium looks all the more uncertain despite a good season on loan at West Ham United. The England youngster now faces increased competition from Hector Bellerin at right-back and that will surely persuade Arsene Wenger to cash in on his improved value in the market.

Lukas Podolski is another who looks unlikely to return to the Arsenal first-team setup anytime soon after a highly disappointing time on loan with Serie A giants Inter Milan. The popular German international has been criticised for his work-rate and simply hasn’t done enough in his limited appearances for either Arsenal or Inter this season to justify a return to the team.

Finally, Joel Campbell perhaps has more of a chance after recently signing a new long-term contract prior to joining Villarreal for the rest of the season. The Costa Rica starlet has had to wait a long time for a chance at Arsenal but seems a talent worth waiting for, with a chance perhaps likely to come again next year.
