PSV technical director Marcel Brands has confirmed that Manchester United have rung them in relation to their interest in winger Memphis Depay, reports the Daily Express.
The 21-year-old has been playing brilliantly this season, scoring 20 goals in 27 appearances for the Eredivisie side. This has led to him being linked to the Red Devils. The youngster has played under United manager Louis van Gaal before while part of the Netherlands squad. The winger has scored twice in 15 games for his national team.
The Red Devils may be searching for a winger because of the bad form of record signing Angel Di Maria. Despite having 10 assists in his debut campaign, the team seem to play better when the Argentine is not involved with proceedings. Without him in the side United won six games in a row before they faced Chelsea on the weekend.
Brands revealed all when he told Dutch TV: “We have had a telephone call from them about him. But no talks have been held yet. There are several top clubs who have expressed an interest.”
