The forward signed for the Gunners in 1995, after playing for Inter Milan and Ajax. He went on to score 120 goals in 423 appearances for the North London club, and was a fan favourite on the terraces for his 11 seasons with the side.

Bergkamp was also a part of the ‘Invincibles’ side, who went unbeaten for the entirety of the 2003-04 campaign. He netted on four occasions during his 28 matches that season.

However, statistics don’t really explain how good the 79 cap Netherlands international was. Bergkamp was capable of amazing moments in play, scoring some of the best goals that English football has seen. He also performed on the international stage, and is among the best players to have ever pulled on the orange jersey in the last couple of decades.

The former Eredivisie star scored some amazing goals for Arsenal, including these three. The amazing touch and finishing ability he shows in all of them probably sum up what the striker was all about.

Bergkamp also impressed on the international stage. This goal was in the 90th minute of Holland’s World Cup quarter final with Argentina in 1998. The commentator went suitably crazy when he netted, although disappointingly they wer beaten by Brazil in the next round.

Then there’s THAT goal against Newcastle United….
