Liverpool star Dejan Lovren has revealed a training ground injury that he suffered on Wednesday, but has refused to say who caused it.
The 25-year-old has had to have stitches in his forehead, but looks like he will be fine to play in the Reds’ next game against Crystal Palace. Even so the Croatian is likely to miss out after being dropped from the starting line up following a terrible debut season at Anfield.
The defender has made several high profile mistakes during the season, which has seen the Merseyside club’s chances of qualifying for the Champions League slip away. Fourth placed Manchester United are six points and +14 goal difference ahead of them with two matches left in the campaign.
Is there any point in the former Southampton man staying with the club beyond this season? With it looking like he can’t get a game even when manager Brendan Rodgers chooses to field three centre-backs unless there are injuries, surely Lovren needs to leave to get his career back on track?
