The 25 year old initially struggled for form following his 2011 move from Palermo to the Parc des Princes but has been in a good run of form this season.

The Argentine’s future at the Ligue 1 side is however uncertain as efforts to tie the creative midfielder to a new PSG contract have failed thus far and with just a year to run on his current deal there is clearly a possibility Pastore could leave the French capital this summer.

Pastore is second on the Ligue 1 leading assist making charts, behind Marseille’s Dimiti Payet, and has played a key role in PSG’s push to retain their domestic title.

Laurent Blanc will be keen to keep hold of Pastore and Liverpool’s chances of luring the South American to Anfield will not be helped by the fact that Brendan Rodgers does not have Champions League football to offer.
