Arsenal have been placed on red alert ahead of this summer’s transfer window as Real Madrid midfielder Sami Khedira has officially announced his intention to leave the club at the end of the season.

The German international, who won the World Cup with his country in Brazil last summer, has been a key performer during his time at the Bernabeu, though he has fallen out of favour in the first-team plans of manager Carlo Ancelotti this year.
Khedira has now made the decision to run down his contract and move on in the summer, with Arsenal supposedly one of his main admirers as they look to strengthen their midfield on the cheap.
The 28-year-old would no doubt make a great buy for the north London giants, and the Metro report that they may now be the favourites to snap him up when he does decide to walk away from the Spanish capital.
