Liverpool close in on £70m attacking duo to help replace Sterling & Suarez

Liverpool look to have made significant progress in their efforts to revamp their attack this summer with a superb £70m double signing, according to reports.

The Reds ended the season with a nightmare 6-1 defeat at the hands of Stoke City yesterday, and clearly have a lot of work to do to improve their squad in the next transfer window.

With Luis Suarez leaving for Barcelona last summer and Raheem Sterling looking like being on his way out this year, attack is a big priority for manager Brendan Rodgers, with these two big-name buys likely to go some way to helping the club get back into the top four in 2015/16…

1) Christian Benteke (Aston Villa)

Liverpool could be closing in on a deal to sign Christian Benteke for around £30m by offering Rickie Lambert to Aston Villa as part of the deal, according to the Metro. The Belgian international has been in great form this season and looks an ideal buy for Rodgers’ side to give them more threat up front.
