Arsenal on alert as United star seeks move.
Arsenal could be ready to pounce for the signing of Real Madrid goalkeeper Iker Casillas this summer if the Spanish giants manage to sign Manchester United star David de Gea as his replacement.
The Gunners are known to be on the lookout for a new signing in goal this summer, with neither Wojciech Szczesny nor David Ospina particularly impressing in recent times.
The pair have been rotated as number one for Arsene Wenger’s side this season, and it is now clear that the Frenchman wants to make a new big-name signing to replace them next season, with Chelsea’s Petr Cech believed to be one of the main targets.
However, according to the London Evening Standard, Arsenal could also try their luck with a bid for Casillas, who could stand to lose his place at the Bernabeu if De Gea does arrive.
The 34-year-old has long been regarded as one of the best goalkeepers in the world, though he has been in decline for the last few years now.
