Man United transfer: Could Gonzalo Higuain save Angel Di Maria’s Old Trafford career?

The 27 year old will apparently leave the San Paolo after the upcoming Copa America finals in Chile and as well as both Premier League sides taking a fancy PSG are also said to be keen on the Argentine.

Higuain netted 107 goals in 190 La Liga appearances at Real Madrid before moving to Naples where he has continued to score regularly.

However his side failed to secure a Champions League qualification spot, Higuain himself missing a key spot-kick in their must-win game against Lazio on the final weekend of the season, and it’s likely the lethal finisher will be on his way.

Louis van Gaal’s need for a prolific goal-scorer is certainly more urgent than Jose Mourinho’s, the Blues boss having seen Diego Costa bag 20 Premier League goals in his debut season at the club, and Napoli are likely to accept offers below Higuain’s hopeful £73m release clause.
