Manchester United could make the most of David de Gea’s impending exit to Real Madrid this summer with a swap deal to bring in Karim Benzema as part of the move.

The Red Devils are looking ever more likely to lose their current number one, with De Gea long linked with a big move to the Bernabeu after his stunning form in the Premier League this season.

Establishing himself as one of the finest shot-stoppers in the world, the 24-year-old could now be brought in as the long-term replacement for club legend Iker Casillas, who has been linked with a move to Arsenal.

Real, however, would be willing to offer Benzema to United to sweeten the deal, with the Daily Telegraph reporting that the French international could be Old Trafford-bound ahead of next season.
