The report believes that AC Milan are interested in the 22-year-old as they attempt to rebuild after squad after finishing a disappointing 10th in La Liga last season. However, the Metro thinks that Arsenal are also keen on the youngster as they look to bolster their team ahead of a title challenge in the next campaign.

Gunners fans will likely already know what the midfielder can do after he starred in their dismantling by the principality based side in the Champions League last 16 back in February. During their 1-3 loss at the Emirates Kondogbia both scored and was able to breakdown the North London club’s attacks. He was also central to the Ligue 1 side’s efforts in the second leg, helping to make sure that they only conceded two goals and went through to the quarter finals.

However, it could be that Arsenal don’t need a defensive midfielder any more. Francis Coquelin has been a revelation in the position since returning from a loan period at Championship team Charlton last December. He played an important part in victories away at Manchester City and Manchester United, and seems to have added the extra steel Arsene Wenger’s side will need if they are to compete with Chelsea for the Premier League title.
