According to Le Parisien, the Argentina international is open to the idea of leaving Old Trafford and wants the Parc des Princes to be his next destination.

The exact deals of the player’s potential contract at PSG—the length, for example—has not been confirmed, although the former Benfica man will pick up one of the biggest salaries at the club.

Di Maria was on the brink of a move to the French champions last summer, after being deemed surplus to requirements at Real Madrid.

The player’s switch to PSG ultimately fell through due to Financial Fair Play restrictions, although Di Maria had agreed to join the project at the club, and had been tempted by the offer made by club president Nasser Al-Khelaifi.

Despite the move falling through—and Di Maria subsequently signing for United—the player kept in contact with the club president, and it appears likely that the understanding between the two men may prove to be influential in his imminent Old Trafford departure.

Club legend Paul Scholes may have urged van Gaal to keep hold of the wideman [MEN], but if the reports in the French press are to be believed, the legendary midfielder’s pleas may have fallen on deaf ears.

While Di Maria appears destined for the exit door, Matteo Darmian’s £12.9 million move from Torino is on the brink of completion, according to the Mirror, who report that the 25-year-old will join on a four-year deal worth £90,000-per-week.
