Manchester United will have been boosted by the news that Real Madrid star Sergio Ramos is learning English, reports the Metro.

The 29-year-old’s girlfriend and mother of his child, Pilar Rubio, has revealed that she and her partner have been learning the language for the last three years. She also claimed that her family wouldn’t mind moving to a different country, as long as they were able to stay together.

He’s been learning with me for years,” Rubio began, “sometimes together and sometimes separately.

“At home we try to put movies on in English. It’s something I’ve been doing for three years.”

She added: “For us the most important thing is being together. We are a very close family and we always rely on our professional decisions, and so it will remain.

“And if I move away, he will come with me. The important thing is to be together, we do not care where.”

The Red Devils have recently made a ‘final offer’ of £35 million for the centre-back, according to The Independent.

They have also threatened to stop David De Gea going to the Bernabeu if they aren’t able to sign the defender. However, with the goalkeeper’s contract at Old Trafford ending next summer this is a flawed threat, as United could be left out of pocket; Los Merengues could pick him up for free in a year if they don’t agree a deal now.
