Tottenham close in on exciting new signing.

Tottenham Hotspur look to be closing in on a deal to sign West Bromwich Albion striker Saido Berahino for £15m, according to an exclusive report from the Daily Express.

The talented 21-year-old really caught the eye in the Premier League last season, scoring 14 league goals, some of which were particularly impressive solo efforts showcasing his natural flair and ability.

Tottenham look in need of new additions up front after some hugely disappointing performances from players like Emmanuel Adebayor and Roberto Soldado last season, with the pair scoring just three Premier League goals between them all season long.

Harry Kane, meanwhile, stepped up for Mauricio Pochettino’s side with some superb goalscoring displays, and the Express claims the club see Berahino as his ideal strike partner in a new-look attack for the 2015/16 season.

£15m certainly looks a good price for a player of such potential, with Berahino still young and learning the game, and a player who could improve vastly by moving to a bigger club with superior coaching and a higher calibre of team-mates around him. The Express adds that he could double his wages by making the move to White Hart Lane, in what would no doubt be a wise career move from him.

Spurs have been relatively quiet in the transfer market this summer, with Toby Alderweireld their most high-profile buy so far, though the arrival of the England Under-21 international would certainly rival that.
