Anfield side set to offload striker.

Liverpool forward Fabio Borini is set to complete a late transfer window move to Sunderland according to the Liverpool Echo.

The 24-year-old Italian international has failed to make an impact at Anfield and is now way down the pecking order following the signings of Christian Benteke, Danny Ings and Roberto Firmino over the summer.

Fabio Borini has netted just two goals in 25 Premier League appearances for Liverpool but did impress during his season long loan spell at the Stadium of Light back in 2013/14, during which the former AS Roma man scored ten goals and helped the Black Cats on their run to the Capital One Cup final.

Dick Advocaat has seen his Sunderland side struggle this term but his bottom of the table outfit have still managed a very decent return of six goals from their opening four Premier League fixtures, though the Dutch manager may feel Fabio Borini could offer a fresh option in the final third.
