Chelsea boss ready to axe star trio for Champions League clash with Maccabi Tel Aviv

Jose Mourinho is ready to drop a number of first-team regulars ahead of Wednesday night’s Champions League encounter with Maccabi Tel Aviv according to the Daily Express.

The Blues boss is ready to leave out full-back Branislav Ivanovic, midfielder Cesc Fabregas and forward Diego Costa, three players who have all struggled for form this season.

Mourinho is ready to offer Baba Rahman a spot in the starting eleven for the visit of Israeli champions Maccabi Tel-Aviv to Stamford Bridge whilst Oscar may replace Fabregas and Loic Remy could step-in for Costa.

Jose Mourinho may feel that the level of opposition leaves him able to make such a statement of intent towards his under-performing stars, the Chelsea manager perhaps confident that doing so would act as a ‘wake-up’ call to the aforementioned trio without harming the club’s chances of securing a much needed win.
