The 30-year-old Spanish international was heavily linked with a move to La Liga side Atletico Madrid over the summer but Cazorla has moved to quash such speculation by stating;
“I never said I wanted to return to Spain,” Cazorla said.
“Those things just came from the press. I don’t understand why they publish that story because I have always been happy at the club.
“I feel very valued here and the club value me even more with a new contract. I never considered leaving Arsenal.” The former Malaga man added.
Cazorla is now tied to a long term Arsenal contract that runs until 2017 and has thrived in a new central midfield role over the past year and is a cult figure among Emirates Stadium supporters.
Since moving to Arsenal in the summer of 2012 Santi Cazorla has racked up 154 appearances for the Premier League side, netting 27 goals in the process.
