Where are they now? Manchester United’s starting XI from Gary Neville’s Red Devils debut

Right winger: Andrei Kanchelskis – Perhaps the timing wasn’t quite right for Kanchelskis at United, who was moved on to Everton in 1995 as David Beckham emerged on the scene. Not the most professional of players, Kanchelskis hasn’t been a big hit in management and left his post with Latvian side FC Jurmala after suffering relegation in 2014.

Centre-midfield: Clayton Blackmore – The ex-Wales international represented United for 12 years before leaving the club in 1994. He retired, aged 45, in 2010, and currently coaches United’s youth teams.

Centre-midfield: Neil Webb – England international Webb was soon on his way after Neville’s debut, moving to Nottingham Forest soon after the match. He features occasionally on talkSPORT, and has also worked as a postman and a programme seller at Reading.
