Arsenal gossip: Sanchez commits future to Gunners as Wenger lays down challenge to Ozil

Thursday’s biggest Arsenal news and transfer rumour gossip.

Corinthians have slapped an £18.5million price tag on Manchester United and Arsenal target Alexandre Pato, the Metro reports.

The Brazilian forward was once one of the most sought-after forwards in the world when he burst onto the scene with Internacional but he’s failed to live up to the hype.

Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez, 26, has pledged his immediate future to the club, despite reports linking him with a move to Real Madrid, the Daily Star reports.

Sanchez, 26, has been a revelation for Arsene Wenger’s side since his £30m move to the Emirates in the summer of 2013, scoring 31 goals in 62 appearances for the north Londoners.

Arsenal chairman Sir Chips Keswick was heckled at the Gunners’ AGM after a performance many felt was patronising, the Daily Mirror reports.

Keswick was accused of avoiding certain questions while simply refusing to answer others.

Arsene Wenger believes that Mesut Ozil is finally showing his true colours in an Arsenal shirt and is backing him to continue the form he began to show going into the international break, according to the Daily Express.

The German was instrumental in the convincing win against Manchester United that led into the break in the domestic programme and will start against Watford on Saturday as Arsenal look to build on that momentum.

Olivier Giroud says he must toughen up and continue to fight for his starting role at Arsenal, the Daily Star reports.

Giroud has had to share his striking duties with Theo Walcott so far this season.
