Revealed: Aston Villa want French coach, and it’s NOT Remi Garde

Posted by

Aston Villa finally lost faith in Tim Sherwood at the weekend following the Villain’s 2-1 home defeat to Swansea City. Could Christophe Galtier be the man to replace him?

Since Terrible Tim’s departure, Villa have been heavily linked with a move for Remi Garde. The former Olympique Lyonnais coach has experience of the Premier League, having previously represented Arsenal in the top flight. Canal + dropped a major hint on Sunday that Garde would be set to take over at Villa Park, but the coach is yet to take over and it would appear as though the Birmingham side are considering other options.

David Moyes and Brendan Rodgers have both been considered, but The Sun believe that Villa are considering a move for Galtier.

The French coach is currently manager of Ligue 1 side Saint-Etienne, and has achieved fine things with the Stephanois over recent seasons.
