Ousted Arsenal star wants Emirates Stadium return

After a litany of incidents in the Arsenal locker room combined with a less-than-stellar 2014-15 campaign, the Gunners decided to send goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny to Roma on loan to make room for Petr Cech.

However, the Metro are now reporting that the Polish stopper appears ready to return to Arsenal once his loan spell ends. Szczesny has missed some time due to a hand injury but is still expected to stay with Roma until early July.

The 25-year-old goalkeeper was the odd man out when Arsenal decided to sign former Chelsea superstar Petr Cech.

“I saw Arsenal as my whole life and I do not hide that is still my dream,” Szczesny told Sky Sport Italia [via the Express].

“For me it is a family, I owe so much to those people that if I were to be given a chance I would play for them again.

“With Wenger there is no love or hate – he’s always been fair with me…”

Szczesny earned himself a spot in Arsene Wenger’s doghouse last season after being caught smoking in the changing room showers. The former Golden Glove winner was benched and but later made the start for the 2015 FA Cup Final against Aston Villa, delivering a clean sheet en route to a 4-0 victory.

‘Nine months is a long time in football, things can change from week to week,” Szczesny added.

He has made eight Serie A appearances for Roma this season.
