Ross Barkley: 6.5/10 – Not his best showing in an England shirt, but he’s unlikely to be used correctly when Harry Kane and Wayne Rooney are starting. There’s still another gear to find.
Raheem Sterling: 7.5/10 – Always looking to make things happen, and provided a fine assist for Rooney’s effort.
Harry Kane: 7.5/10 – The international break has been characteristic of a stop-star season for Kane, who’s yet to get into the groove he enjoyed last term. There were moments of class here, particularly in the build-up, but must still prove that he can be England’s leading man.
Wayne Rooney: 8.5/10 – A sterling performance, the kind that will doubtless see the hype swirl ahead of next summer’s competition. He operated on the flank, came deep to get the ball and demonstrated his leadership skills.
