Reports have revealed that West Ham United are plotting a January move for AC Milan’s attacking midfielder Keisuke Honda.

According to the Brentwood Gazette, the Japan playmaker—who come on as substitute in the Rossoneri’s defeat to Juventus on Saturday—has grown increasingly annoyed with his bit-part role at at San Siro.

As such, Honda is ready to cut his losses in Italy, and is open to a move abroad in order to revitalise his career.

West Ham are understood to be keen on a move, while Everton have also been linked to the 29-year-old as they look to add the extra dimension to their side in the battle for a European place.

While it’s not immediately obvious where Honda would fit in at Goodison Park—where Ross Barkley is enjoying a stunning start to the season—the East Asian could be a valuable commodity at West Ham, where playmaker Dimitri Payet has been ruled out until February with injury.

Honda was previously wanted by Liverpool during his time at CSKA Moscow, before his ill-fated move to Milan.
