Arsenal set to complete Mohamed Elneny signing today as he flies into London

Arsenal could be set to complete the signing of FC Basel midfielder Mohamed Elneny in the next 24 hours after reports in the Daily Star claim he is en route to London today to put pen-to-paper.

The Gunners reached an agreement with the Swiss champions last month over the player’s signature, with reports that he successfully completed a medical with the Premier League title contenders last week.

Manager Arsene Wenger admitted that he is keen to bolster his squad with at least two new signings over the next two weeks to provide cover for the gaping hole left in the centre of midfield by injured duo Santi Cazorla and Francis Coquelin.

Last week emerged that work permit issues could hold up the deal, but The Star is now reporting that those problems have been cleared and he is now given the green light to complete his move to The Emirates this week.
