Chelsea set to rival Manchester United for Galactico signing; Bernabeu giants keen on Eden Hazard

Manchester United aren’t the only Premier League side keen on sealing a deal for Gareth Bale in 2016, with Chelsea also understood to be keen on the Real Madrid superstar.

The Daily Mail reported earlier this week that Welsh international Bale was devastated at the club’s decision to sack Rafael Benitez and replace him with Zinedine Zidane.

The tabloid noted that Florentino Perez’s decision had left the former Tottenham Hotspur man unsettled, and that Manchester United were hoping to capitalise on the attacker’s growing unease at the Bernabeu to swoop in and sign him.

The Mirror revealed that the Red Devils were eyeing a bid of over £75 million for the player, while the Telegraph noted that Manchester City were also monitoring the situation, potentially fancying their chances of securing a deal for the forward.

As per the Mirror, Zidane appears to have confirmed that Bale is unsettled. “I understand that he was annoyed with the departure of Benitez,” the French icon began, “because he was an important coach for him.”

The tabloid, however, note that United aren’t the only Premier League giants keen on the 26-year-old, and name Chelsea as suitors for the Galactico.

Indeed, according to the Mirror, the Blues and not United are in pole position to sign the Welshman, with Zidane a major admirer of Eden Hazard and understood to be keen to make the Belgian attacker the club’s Galactico of 2016.

Should the Merengues make concrete their desire to sign Hazard, could Chelsea negotiate to bring unsettled Bale to Stamford Bridge in his stead?
