Victor Osimhen: Nigerian wonderkid wanted by Arsenal & Tottenham reveals which club he’s chosen

Nigerian wonderkid Victor Osimhen appears to have spurned interest from Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur to sign for German side Wolfsburg.

The 16-year-old made international headlines last year when he shone at the U-17 World Cup in Chile, helping Nigeria to the youth title.

While the forward impressed with his all-round game, his goalscoring truly stole the show. The teenager bagged ten goals during the competition—with his tenth coming in the final triumph over Mali—in the process setting the tournament’s goalscoring record, set by former Liverpool striker Florent Sinama Pongolle in 2001.

Osimhen’s performances have set him apart as one of the brightest young talents in the game, and it’s little surprise that two Premier League giants are keen on his signature.

According to The Sun, both Arsenal and Tottenham are believed to be keen on the forward, and while the player’s agent Gaffar Liameed appeared to suggest in December that Spurs were out of the running, Osimhen looks to have rejected the Gunners as well.

According to Goal, the wonderkid has decided to throw his hat into the ring with German side Wolfsburg.

“I have visited the team in Wolfsburg and with the promises the coach made to me when I visited the arena, I think Wolfsburg is my destination,” the teenager said, speaking at the Caf awards ceremony for African Player of the Year, in which he was crowned as the continent’s finest youngster of 2015.

“I’m going to stay at Wolfsburg for as long as the team can keep me.”
