Video: West Ham goal puts Man City in danger of losing double – first time since ’62-’63

Enner Valencia has been an unstoppable force for West Ham United during their match against Manchester City. He scored his first goal of the day just 55 seconds into the start of the match only to watch as the Citizens equalized. However, he may have proved to be the team’s savior with his performance in the second half.

Tied 1-1, Valencia caught the the ball which had deflected off the head of Demichelis to gain a clean path between him and the goalpost – an opportunity he promptly took and to great effect.

The goal gave West Ham United a 2-1 lead with a win giving them a double against Man City for the first time since the 1962-63 season.

Man City will need to equalize if they have any hope of avoiding their second upset of the season against the Hammers – their first loss of the year came against West Ham back in October, ending a five-game winning streak in the process.
