Liverpool boss meets with Granit Xhaka agent over possible move

A report in German publication Bild has claimed that Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is already planning for next season and has held a meeting with the agent of Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Granit Xhaka.

The report claims that the Swiss international is now Klopp’s top priority in the transfer market, and meetings between himself and his agent, Andy Goss, took place last month.

Klopp apparently sees Xhaka as the kind of player desperately needed at Anfield, and believes that his ‘aggressive leadership’ will be a big boost to the side next term.

Xhaka is contracted to Borussia until the summer of 2019, but the player does have a release clause in his contract that will become active in 2017 set at €30million.

Both Chelsea and Arsenal are also said to be interested in his signature, and with the Euros coming in the summer, a good showing may convince Monchengladbach to cash in on his services.
