Video: Everton 1-1 Southampton – Mane goal keeps Everton winless through six

Calling Everton the best bottom-10 team in European football might be the most backhanded (and accurate) compliment one could possibly give the team. And yet, the Toffees keep on living up to the mantra after conceding yet another lead in a draw against Southampton.

Romelu Lukaku was on the bench the whole game due to an injury but Ramiro Funes Mori replaced him as the scoring threat and notched a goal in the second half. However, Southampton star Sadio Mane got the equalizer at the 76′ mark.

The final 15 minutes proved futile for both sides as they both came away with one point in a 1-1 draw, but the result was far worse for Roberto Martinez.

For the sixth straight week, the Toffees have failed to get three points – and the latest rumours that Everton have started scouring the globe for Martinez’s replacement have only increased the pressure on the embattled Everton boss.

As for Southamton, the draw for the Saints prevented them from keeping level on points with West Ham United for the final Europa League spot. With a game in hand, the Hammers can extend their lead and keep the last spot out of reach.
